It's that time of year again! Time for me and my work friends to build a house!!! Please consider making a donation to my fundraising page. Not sure what to donate? Here's some ideas: $50 buys the paint needed to decorate the walls of a child’s first bedroom $100 buys a stove to make a home-cooked meal for a family dinner $250 builds a front porch where parents can watch their children play in the yard $500 buys sturdy doors and windows to keep a home safe and secure $1,000 insulates a home keeping it comfortable year-round in every season But honestly, even $20 can make an impact! Women Build is way more than building a home; it is about building a future and a strong foundation for members of our community. Fair access to safe, accessible, and affordable housing is vital to the wellbeing of women and their families. Where we live is at the very core of our daily lives. In the U.S. 1 in 6 families are paying half or more of their income on housing. Women are disproportionately affected by this cost burden and when families are forced to spend an unreasonable amount of their income on housing other important necessities such as healthcare, education, and nutrition that families depend on suffer. This is an easy way to make a big impact!
